Chris

My name is Chris Marshall, and I am a sports junkie. I can't help it. I was born that way. I watched my first World Series (Twins def. Braves, 4 games to 3), Super Bowl (Redskins def. Bills, 37-24), and Summer Olympics (Barcelona, 1992) when I was 6 years old. I was watching the last time the Detroit Lions won a playoff game. I remember when Michael Jordan won his first title. For whatever reason, sports captivated me, and 20 years later, I'm just as addicted as ever.

While I mostly focus on football, tennis, and boxing these days, I still keep up with everything to the best of my ability—even basketball. I just have this insatiable urge to be in the know. Writing about sports gives me even more motivation to stay current, as well as instilling me with a desire to look at them in ways that (hopefully) no one has thought about before.

I'm an unabashed, unapologetic Steelers fan and Patriots hater, and you should never expect to read anything fair, balanced, or within the borders of rational thought when either team is involved. I'm sympathetic to Ole Miss, but I have no hopes or dreams or expectations for their sports teams, which makes it much easier for me to remain “objective” if they come up. I'm also a huge Roger Federer fan, but I know tennis well enough, I think, to leave my personal feelings out of tennis discussions.

My ultimate goal is to entertain, but if I fall short of that, I am also content to inform. Bear with us as we find our voice as a blog; I'm sure it'll be fun but bumpy ride.
